About the Department

The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in 2009, having an approved intake of 60 students, now sectioned intake of 90. The curriculum follows the syllabus prescribed by the Directorate of Technical Education (DOTE), Chennai.

The department is committed to delivering quality engineering education with a strong on creative thinking, design and product development. It strives to equip students with the ability to overcome real-world constraints, work effectively in teams, and uphold professional ethics.

The department is well-equipped with advanced laboratories, including Engineering Practices Laboratory, Manufacturing Technology Laboratory, Thermal Engineering Laboratory, Metrology Laboratory, Strength of Materials Laboratory, Fluid Mechanics Laboratory, CAD/CAM.

A team of dedicated and highly qualified faculty members actively supports the teaching and learning process. Classrooms are equipped with modern tools .

Students are encouraged to participate in various co-curricular and extracurricular activities such as seminars, workshops, industrial visits, and projects. They are also motivated to organize seminars and invite participants from other institutions, fostering knowledge exchange and leadership skills.

Regular departmental and class committee meetings, conducted by the Principal and Head of the Department, help monitor student performance. Special attention is given to identifying slow learners and providing appropriate remedial support.

இயந்திர பொறியியல் துறை (Mechanical Engineering)

இயந்திர பொறியியல் துறை 2009ஆம் ஆண்டில் தொடங்கப்பட்டது. ஆரம்பத்தில் 60 மாணவர் சேர்க்கை அனுமதிக்கப்பட்டிருந்தது, தற்போது 90 ஆக உயர்த்தப்பட்டுள்ளது. பாடத்திட்டம் Directorate of Technical Education , (DOTE), சென்னை மூலம் நிர்ணயிக்கப்பட்டது.

இந்தத் துறை, தரமான பொறியியல் கல்வியை வழங்குவதில் உறுதியாக செயல்படுகிறது. குறிப்பாக படைப்பாற்றல் சிந்தனை (Creative Thinking), வடிவமைப்பு (Design) மற்றும் தயாரிப்பு மேம்பாடு (Product Development) ஆகியவற்றில் வலுவான கவனம் செலுத்தப்படுகிறது. மாணவர்கள் நிஜ வாழ்க்கை சவால்களை சமாளிக்கவும், குழுவாகச் செயல்படவும், தொழில்முறை நெறிமுறைகளைப் பின்பற்றவும், தேவையான திறன்களை வளர்த்துக் கொள்ளவும், துறை செயல்படுகிறது.

இந்தத் துறை, பல நவீன ஆய்வகங்களுடன் சிறப்பாக அமைந்துள்ளது. அவற்றில் Engineering Practices Laboratory, Manufacturing Technology Laboratory, Thermal Engineering Laboratory, Metrology Laboratory, Strength of Materials Laboratory, Fluid Mechanics Laboratory மற்றும் CAD/CAM ஆகியவை முக்கியமானவை.

அர்ப்பணிப்புடன் செயல்படும் திறமையான ஆசிரியர் குழு கற்பித்தலும், கற்றலும் சிறப்பாக நடப்பதை ஊக்கப்படுத்துகிறார்கள். வகுப்பறைகள் நவீன தொழில்நுட்ப சாதனங்களால் சீரமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன.

மாணவர்கள் Seminars, Workshops, Industrial visits, Indenship training and projects போன்ற பல கூடுதல் செயல்பாடுகளில் ஈடுபட ஊக்குவிக்கப்படுகின்றனர். மேலும், மாணவர்கள் தாங்களே Seminars நடத்தி, பிற கல்வி நிறுவனங்களிலிருந்து பங்கேற்பாளர்களை அழைத்து அறிவு பரிமாற்றத்தையும் , தலைமைத்திறனையும் வளர்த்துக் கொள்கிறார்கள்.

முதல்வர் மற்றும் துறைத் தலைவர் தலைமையில் நடைபெறும் துறை மற்றும் வகுப்பு குழுக் கூட்டங்கள் மூலம் மாணவர்களின் செயல்திறன் தொடர்ந்து கண்காணிக்கப்படுகிறது. மெதுவாக கற்றுக்கொள்ளும் மாணவர்களை அடையாளம் கண்டு, அவர்களுக்கு தேவையான கூடுதல் ஆதரவு மற்றும் பயிற்சிகள் வழங்கப்படுகின்றன.
